My Story

With an illustrious voice and soulful lyrics, Desiree Dezzie Neal distinguished herself as a trendsetter on the gospel music scene in 2002. After the release of her first project, Dezzie gained notoriety, respect, and the attention of many in the industry by rising quickly as a notable voice on the Philadelphia Gospel music scene.  What happened next was totally a surprise to Dezzie as God totally shifted the use of her voice and blessed her with the opportunity to become the youngest syndicated radio personality on Philadelphia’s Praise 103.9 with listeners throughout the Tri-State, Delaware Valley Region, and North Carolina, holding a captive audience of over 30,000 listeners.  Dezzie’s tag line, “Holla @ Ya B.I.G. girl,” became well known as she used it to remind women that they are beautiful, intelligent, and gifted.  Her voice and influence quickly spread across the globe, which landed her a position as the Entertainment Correspondent for the Yolanda Adams Morning Show. Education remained a priority for Dezzie, and while doing all this, she managed to complete her degree in Human Services and Psychology, which enabled her to provide private emotional wellness consultation to artists who presented the need for her services.

Dezzie is currently gracing the airwaves of Reach Gospel Radio and WDAS FM with Patty Jackson, where she delivers powerful messages called “Dezzie’s Sunday Soul Chat”.  Dezzie’s list of accolades also includes Gospel Ambassador for the Philadelphia Chapter of the Recording Academy (Grammys), Stellar Servant Awardee, Loan Shepp Woman of Style and Substance, Philadelphia’s 100 most Influential Black Women, and a City of Philadelphia Citation recipient, just to name a few. Dezzie has hosted stages in both intimate settings and major arenas and worked closely beside amazing artists like Kirk Franklin, Erica Campbell, Ty Tribbett, Donald Lawrence, Ricky Dilliard, Jekalyn Carr, Tamela Mann, Bishop Hezekiah Walker, Adam Blackstone, Shirley Ceasar, and a host of other A-list artists.

Dezzie is the proud Founder of Lil Mamaz Etiquette Academy, a Non- Profit organization serving minority girls ages 7-17 with a focus on increasing self-esteem, sisterhood, character, hygiene, skill building, talent development, emotional wellness, dining etiquette, knowledge of confidence, couth and the ability to effectively code switch which increases the likelihood of opportunities for personal and professional growth.  As she continues to pour into the young ladies of LMEA, the doors of opportunity continue to swing open for her.  In October 2025, Dezzie was blessed to grace the stage of TEDx Jersey City, where she delivered a riveting TED talk entitled “You are Enough”, a deep dive into body positivity, various theories, and an inspirational, original musical body of work to bring it home!

Despite all these major accomplishments, Dezzie says her greatest accomplishment is being the mother of 2 amazing demonstrations of God’s love, her daughters.  Dezzie’s infectious personality is the same both on and off stage; you will always experience her genuine love for people and for God.  Whether it’s backstage following a performance, praying, or talking with someone in need, or simply showing her bright smile, Dezzie is committed to changing lives by using God’s love.  Dezzie’s sole desire is to gracefully accept each new assignment from God and add her twist and flair to it “to make it do what it do!” Dezzie is living proof that delays are never denials, and all things are possible with God!
